Yes, the time has come. I am officially 365 days sober. If I’m being honest, I thought sobriety would be a fresh, clear-eyed beginning to a life full of never-ending joy and success. But, sometimes it feels more like a never-ending marathon, and I hate to run. There’s a reason you don’t see endless lines, velvet ropes, and clipboard holding hosts in front of AA meetings. I know, I know... this probably isn’t the inspiring, hopeful, message you were anticipating from a guy who just celebrated one year sober. We’ll get to that. But don’t let people fool you, sobriety...

Yes, I know, it's been a while. Don't worry, I wasn't in labor or anything. That would be awkward. Let's just skip the long-winded explanation as to why I haven't written and dive into the exciting news I have for you all. Sound good? K, thanks. As most of you know, a little over two years ago, I stood on the edge of my window deciding if I wanted to be alive anymore. I was 254 lbs, angry at the world, and hated everything about myself.  I ate terribly, drank religiously, and never exercised. Perfect combo, right? I would sweat walking upstairs, so the elevator and I became the best of friends....

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of visiting Warner Brothers Studios in LA to work on a new TV show. If I’m being honest, I probably should’ve been more excited than I was. My anxiety was through the roof. And not only that - I had to be there at 6:00am, which meant I had to be up at 4:00am. I was exhausted, and cranky.  Clearly, I’m still a child. When I arrived, they had me park off-site in overflow and then shuttle in. I hopped on the shuttle at O’Dark Thirty in the morning and realized I was...

Two ears, one mouth. Hmmm 🤔 Ryan, what does that even mean, guy? Well, you curious and wonderful reader of mine...I’m glad you asked. I saw this quote the other day and it absolutely blew my mind. When I graduated college, I thought I knew everything. I had just launched a business and felt like I was invincible. And I made sure everyone around me knew it, too. I would go on and on about how great our business was doing and how awesome it was that I got to drink for a living. I would rant and rave about all the...

Last night, I was searching for light…then it dawned on me (see what I did there) 😉 I love Dad jokes…probably more than I love anything on the planet. Yes, I know, you’re all very aware of that. I even started doing a #DailyDad joke on my Instagram where I tell a new joke to a friend, family member, or even… a COMPLETE stranger. It’s glorious. And yes, I’m also well aware of how annoying it is… but I don’t care. It brings me joy, and that’s all that matters. And isn’t that what life’s all about right there? Finding areas...
